According to the popular digital chat station, Xiaomi is Working on a phone with a 7,500 mAh battery cell, which will be larger than what we've seen in phones like the S24 Ultra, OnePlus 13 and rumored S25 Ultra.
The smartphone market has been lacking in innovation lately, but one area where there can always be improvement is battery life. And while phones are like coming The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to retain the same battery capacity, and as always, other competitors are ready to jump into the race with some strong numbers.
In the past couple of years, we've seen several Chinese brands embrace the potential of silicon and carbon battery technology and introduce amazingly large batteries. However, Xiaomi is not settling and may raise the game in 2025.
According to the latest leak, Xiaomi is equipping the Redmi phone with a battery with a capacity of around 7,500 mAh. And in a later comment after his blog. Digital Chat Station reported that the device will not have wireless charging. Although this is a minus in my book, it might be worth waiving if you don't have to charge it often.

It is worth noting that we have already seen smartphones with larger batteries than these. However, we're talking about powerful and often bulky devices with 10,000 mAh batteries, which aren't exactly the kind of sleek phone you'd use on a daily basis.
Unlike the powerful beast with a huge battery, this mysterious Redmi beast is said to resemble a mainstream smartphone and probably won't look like a brick you can throw into the Grand Canyon to capture some stunning views of yours... That's what the potential 7,500 mAh battery phone would do per hour to also wipe the floor with other silicon and carbon phones. Examples include the Realme GT 7 Pro, which has a 6,500 mAh cell OnePlus 13 with a capacity of 6000 mAh, and the RedMagic 10 Pro Plus with a cell with a capacity of 7050 mAh. the Galaxy S25 Ultrawhich is said to retain a 5,000 mAh battery, looks like a relic of 2016 in this context. And before Galaxy fans raise an eyebrow, let's not even start with the iPhone, which isn't in this group either.
But Xiaomi may not be content to stick with just a 7,500 mAh battery and according to Digital Chat Station, it is working on a phone with a larger battery.
The battery capacity war will likely continue into 2025 and even 2026. We recently received a hopeful report about Samsung working on Battery stacking technology to give the Galaxy S26 Ultra more competitive battery capacity.
The benefits of larger battery capacity don't stop at how long a phone can go between charges. A larger battery also means you don't have to keep your phone on its wireless charging stand all the time and potentially degrade the battery faster – so this will ensure longer life. I'd love to see where battery capacities go in the future, and rumors like this one regarding the mysterious Redmi company certainly excite me.
