[ad_1] TikTok has been discontinued and wiped from Apple and Google's app storefronts, App Store, and Play Store respectively. Earlier this evening, TikTok users saw a message when opening the app stating that the app would be "temporarily unavailable" in the US. In this message, TikTok said it is working to restore service in the United States as soon as possible and has ended the ban. Message saying: "Please follow us." A second message, titled “Sorry, TikTok is currently unavailable,” stated that a law banning TikTok had been enacted in the U.S. “Unfortunately, this means you cannot use TikTok at this time.” This message continued, "We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us to find a solution to bring TikTok back once he takes office. Please stay tuned!" Trump will become president again when he is inaugurated on Monday. TikTok goes dark on Saturday night. | Image credit-PhoneArena Earlier on Saturday, President-elect Trump said he would "most likely" give TikTok a 90-day extension, giving it more time to find a US-based buyer. A law signed by President Joe Biden in April gave TikTok until January 19 to find a buyer to take the popular short-video app off the hands of Chinese company ByteDance. US lawmakers fear that ByteDance will collect personal data on TikTok users in the states, including data on children and teenage users. Another concern is that American children are being brainwashed by watching Chinese propaganda broadcast on the site. This is breaking news and will be updated.
