Besides just width of time, hours provide HAPTIC alerts, or vibrations, to indicate events such as players who come out of the penalty box or the end of the period. These distinctive patterns are distinct, which prevents confusion between officials during the game. The watches are also connected to the NHL OASIS system, which is a cloud -based platform that collects operator tracking, game data and other basic information, ensuring that all officials receive simultaneous updates.

The need for this technology arose from the underlying challenges faced by officials on ice. Their duties extend beyond making calls; They must also follow a pile, move around the players, monitor areas, and manage players' movements inside and outside the penalty box. Checking the game watch was constantly needed, often on high ice video panels. With hockey speed, this has proven that it is ineffective and destroyed. By providing information in actual time, NHL aims to simplify the functioning of the referee and improve its ability to focus on the game.
We wanted to make sure that their officials are really good awareness and were able to keep their eyes to play. So by enabling prominent responses, we were able to provide invisible signals to officials.

Officials have the option to determine the Apple Watch Ultra or series model, depending on their comfort and equipment needs. Regardless of the chosen model, these hours are set only for in -game use, ensuring unification through all officials.
