Samsung Foundry is still working on its plans for 2nm and even 1.4nm chips. Exynos’ deal with TSMC is likely to be a short-term solution until the foundry’s manufacturing processes are optimized. Although TSMC’s rejection will set Samsung back a few steps, it will not stop the company from implementing Exynos in its phones completely.
Just like Apple silicon, Galaxy phones powered by Samsung’s own in-house Exynos chipsets can outperform the competition handsomely if said chipsets are properly optimized. Galaxy phones are already some of the The best phones in the world and TSMC’s rejection won’t change that.
