Qualcomm announced on Tuesday that starting with Android phones supported by Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile platform, hardware manufacturers will be able to provide consumers with up to eight consecutive years of Android and safety updates. The smartphones that are launched with Snapdragon 8 and Snapdragon 7 laptop platforms will also be able to provide eight consecutive years of buyers.

Qualcomm says its goal is to help the owners of the devices to press as much as possible devices that use semiconductors. Saint Diego, a fabless chip designer, says that devices manufacturers are now guaranteed to transfer to its customers the latest version of Android over eight years of support that can be supported by the best application processors in Qualcomm.

It is clear that the eight successive years of support is a significant increase in the number of years of support that APS can provide from Qualcomm. It goes without saying (but we will do anyway), the eight years are also the longest number of successive years that APS managed to Qualcomm to continue providing support to the mobile device.

Manufacturers of mobile devices will now receive support for the basic system programs for eight consecutive years. This includes both Android OS and KerNEL updates. The devices that provide support for the market beating at the end of 2024 began, according to Palacum. The first phones to be covered with this additional support is Android models supported by Snapdragon 8 Elite Ap Android 15.

As we have already noticed, the new phones that have been released this year run the New Snapdragon 8 and Snapdragon 7-Series platforms are also qualified for eight-year-old-extended coverage. But what we need to refer to is that the decision if a specific phone will be given eight years of Android and Security up to each factory. Qualcomm says she already sees obligations from manufacturers to keep their phones available to consumers for longer periods of time.

Unfortunately, Qualcomm says that the phones that were already released using the oldest Snapdragon Aps from Snapdragon 8 Elite cannot benefit from expanded updates. Qualcomm says it will continue to work with devices manufacturers to meet the needs of support for their old devices.

the Samsung Galaxy S24 line and The Pixel 8 series was the first Android models that served eight years of system and safety updates. Before that, and The Galaxy S23 series has received four years of Android updates and five years of safety updates.
