Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman posted a tweet late last week writing that the tech giant “will be doing some ‘merchandise/floor marketing updates'” at Apple Store locations this coming week. While no one knows for sure what the big news is, it appears that Apple is about to launch the Black Unity Apple Watch bracelet for the year 2025. Apple has not yet announced the 2025 version of this bracelet, and the hidden symbol seems to indicate that the reveal of the final version of this bracelet will come soon.
Since the launch of the Black Unity Apple Watch bands in 2021, Apple has been launching this particular band on a Wednesday in mid-January every year, which means it will be delayed. However, a tweet posted by @aaronp613 (Aaron Perris), a MacRumors contributor, says that code in the tvOS 18.3 RC (release candidate) indicates that Apple still plans to launch a Black Unity Apple Watch band in 2025. These bands are usually It features a color combination of black, green and red.

In both 2021 and 2024, Apple introduced a Black Unity watch face identical to the Apple Watch along with the release of a new Apple Watch band. Last year’s release of the Black Unity band not only came with an Apple Watch face, but also included a new wallpaper for the iPhone and iPad.

Last week, Apple released the Release Candidate (RC) version of iOS 18.3 which means the final stable release of iOS 18.3 could be released as soon as next week. With that in mind, there’s a good chance that Apple’s merchandise/floor marketing updates in Apple Stores will be tied to the upcoming 2025 release of the Black Unity Apple Watch band. With last year’s release, Apple also gave grants to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Battersea Arts Centre, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Ghetto Film School, and the National Museum of African American Music.

Will there be a special watch face released this year or a special wallpaper for iPhone and iPad? Will Apple also announce special grants? We won’t know these answers until the tech giant officially releases the update. And of course, we’ll let you know when the announcement will be, when watch bands, watch faces, and any other related materials will be released.
If past is prologue, we could see the release of the Black Unity Apple Watch Band on Wednesday, January 29.
