With only a few hours to go until Samsung has finally “unpacked” what has been long overdue Galaxy S25 family of ultra-premium smartphones, news about a completely different product in the company’s product line comes from the most unusual sources – The Bloomberg report mainly focuses on Meta’s potential hardware release plans over the next few years.
A whole new generation of wireless earbuds is here
let’s be honest, The latest additions to the hugely popular AirPods and The Galaxy Buds families have been… rather boring. The same is unfortunately true for almost all of the major players in the wireless audio industry despite everyone’s efforts to come up with sleeker and more comfortable designs, as well as ever-improving sound quality and active noise cancellation technology.
There simply isn’t much room for real innovation and meaningful change in this market anymore, and that’s where Meta and… Samsung is expected to come out with flagship earbuds with cameras relatively soon. Yes, both manufacturers are super-expansive The Galaxy Buds lineup and the company behind two of the world’s most popular social media networks are said to be working on a new kind of AirPods alternative with an additional key component and thus an enhanced degree of comfort and flexibility.
Future Meta and Samsung earbuds could be more versatile and convenient than the AirPods Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
Right now, it’s not entirely clear what the speaker’s built-in camera (or cameras) will actually be able to do, but since this is the year 2025, you’ve probably already guessed that its capabilities will likely be related to artificial intelligence. Technology (of some sort) instead of taking pictures… from your ears.
Given this almost complete lack of details about features, capabilities, product names and prices, you shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the camera-equipped Meta headphones have yet to get the green light for a commercial release, which is unlikely to happen for another few years… if Ever. Perhaps the same applies to the first version of the Galaxy Buds, as well as to the A Similar device from Apple which was It’s been in the rumor mill for almost a year now, so it could be closer to production and a final launch.
Before you think about it, no, there are no signs of any kind of sequel to the infamous series The Facebook phone from back in the day is under consideration. But the first “Facebook Watch” of its kind may come…at some point in the next two years after “about half a decade” of “exploration,” “contemplation,” multiple cancellations, reconsiderations, and at least one cancellation.
Naturally, that name isn’t etched in stone (not even close), and the list of known features is as short as those associated with Meta’s aforementioned first-of-its-kind earbuds. Basically, the only details Mark Gurman can currently share is this Meta’s emerging smartwatch effort should come with a display capable of displaying (among other images) captured using the company’s smartglasses.

The aforementioned smart glasses are expected to expand in a number of big ways this year, including new markets as well Current Ray-Ban hardware is involved and at least one other fashion brand is in Oakley. More importantly, Meta is also expected to introduce a completely new type of augmented reality (AR) product with higher-end specifications and a much higher price tag that could reach the $1,000 mark.
This will still be much cheaper than Apple Vision Pro, of course, which means these new “Hypernova” glasses won’t be able to do much on their own or display a very impressive display. But that’s where another product, codenamed “Artemis,” could come along in a couple of years, taking Mark Zuckerberg’s dream of augmented reality to the next level with more advanced software, autonomous operations, and, perhaps, a lighter design than was the case. Previously. Vision Pro Offers currently.
Of course, Apple is unlikely to sit idly by and wait dead to make “Artemis” a commercial reality in 2027 without at least trying to improve or improve it. Improve the first generation Vision ProWhich makes this a very interesting fight to follow for the next few years.
