[ad_1] One complaint he made concerns the lack of impressive new products from Cupertino. Zook accused Apple of being complacent and sitting still for the past 20 years after the invention of the iPhone. He says it's not clear whether Apple is selling more iPhone units on an annual basis. The problem, according to Zuckerberg, is that each iPhone generation doesn't bring a lot of changes, so people wait longer between upgrades. “They haven't invented anything really great in a while. It's like Steve Jobs invented the iPhone, and now they're sitting on it 20 years later. In fact, I think year after year, I'm sure they're selling more iPhones at this point.” And I think sales may actually be declining. Part of that is that each generation (of iPhones) doesn't get much better, so it's taking people longer to upgrade than before. I think sales have generally been flat until they're down, so how do they make more money? As a company? They basically do it, like put pressure on people. Zuckerberg has been angry with Apple for years. What really piqued Zuck's interest was the Apple App Tracking Transparency feature that was added in iOS 14.5. This feature allows iPhone users to decide whether they want to be tracked by third-party apps for the purpose of receiving targeted advertising. Facebook initially estimated that app tracking transparency could cost it $10 billion in ad revenue during the first year.
