[ad_1] When the smartphone revolution first started, no one really cared how long the battery would last. In those days, having a fully charged cell on your phone was as simple as opening the back panel, taking out the dead battery, and replacing it with a new, fully charged one. Replaceable batteries are long gone although the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA) seeks to bring them back. What this proves is that the newer Pixel models are more power efficient than previous Pixel phones. The lithium-ion batteries used to power most smartphones only last so long before they need to be replaced. Those who run a Pixel 8a Or later they can monitor how much capacity their battery now has by going to Settings > About phone > Battery information. The information you'll see includes the number of times the battery was charged when it was manufactured and the date the battery was first used. Using this information, you can find out how many charge cycles are left in your phone's battery. It can also help detect if the battery powering your phone is the original one that the device came with. Improved battery charging on Pixel. | Image credit-PhoneArena To slow battery degradation on your Pixel phone, Google recommends not using your Pixel phone while the battery is charging and not leaving your Pixel phone exposed to sunlight or high temperatures for an extended period of time (95°F/35°C or higher). Google also suggests that Pixel users enable the Adaptive Charging feature. This feature learns how you prefer to charge your phone and when you usually take the device out of the charger each morning. With adaptive charging, the phone slows down the speed at which it charges the battery and pauses at 80%. The charging process usually ends about an hour before you take the phone out of the charger. On your Pixel device, go to Settings > battery > Improve shipping. Toggle on “Use charging optimization” and choose between Adaptive Charging and Stop charging at 80%. Phone manufacturers try to increase the number of charging cycles that a phone's original battery can handle before it becomes completely useless to the phone owner.
