Google Maps Live Updates feature debuts in Android 16 Beta 2.1

[ad_1]

Android 16 will have a feature called direct updates that will allow the appearance on the lock screen, the status bar, the screen, and the notification plate. These are not your notifications in running. These are user updating notifications to advance a specific task. Last week Google Android 16 Beta 2.1 has released, a gradual update that is usually not expected to bring anything new to the table.

However, Android 16 Beta 2.1 includes the feature of direct updates, and Google Maps appears to be the first application to support direct updates. Google Maps Live Updates Status Bar Chip is immediately green that belongs to Google Maps. Besides the presence of a green background in Google Maps, the chips contain the Google Maps icon, so there will be no disturbance about the application from which direct update will come.

The information that you will be able to see using this slide includes time to the next turn, ETA, and possibly other rotation data. Since these chips are in the status bar, they are not large enough to contain a lot of information. Clicking on one of the chips will turn it into a board, allowing you to view the same information without having to scroll down from the top of the screen.

The information in the painting you need to travel is displayed until you reach your destination, the extent of your destination, the estimated time to reach the next turn, and the time until the next turn. The feature is available on my country Pixel 6 Pro Running Android 16 Beta 2.1. In addition to working with Google Maps, direct updates will show you progress in the food delivery processes coming from specific delivery platforms, to what extent you are from the participation of the ride that you requested from Uber or Lyft, is the progress of the countdown temporary, and the update of grades from some sporting events.

Keep in mind that everything we see is now limited because we are in Android 16 Beta 2.1 and the stable final version of Android 16 unexpected until June.

If direct updates seem familiar to you iOS users, then this is similar to the advantage of direct activities that display many updates with the same actual time on the dynamic island and lock iPhone users.
