Don’t count on Apple to rescue TikTok from a U.S. ban, says report

With the suspension of the future of Tiktok in the United States in the balance, speculation about potential buyers has reached new levels - but do not expect Apple to jump to the battle. Despite the base of the huge users of social media and cultural influence, Apple does not think of any form of investment or acquisition, according to Mark Gorkman from Bloomberg. The question appeared during the last part of the latest Gorkman's authority in the newsletter, after President Donald Trump's decision to extend the stopping of Tijook for another 75 days. With the presence of American lawmakers who discuss legislation that could force the sale of American Tiktok operations, there was a renewed interest in who, if anyone, may be able - or ready - to - such a political charged acquisition. While companies like Microsoft and Oracle have explored Tiktok deals in the past, the name Apple is sometimes revolving due to their immune monetary prescriptions. But Gurman is clear: Apple has no "clear scenario" as it will buy or invest in Tiktok. The reasons? They go beyond money.

Apple and social media are not only mixed

Unlike Meta, Google or even Amazon, Apple has been largely far from social media. It has never been launched its own successful platform (remember Ping?), And it did not show great interest in being a major player in the content created by users.

Apple's concentration remains directly on devices, services such as iCloud and Apple Music, increasingly, AI on devices. A large -scale social platform such as TIKTOK is not in this strategy and will collect a set of challenges, from moderation policies to privacy concerns, which Apple usually engage in.
